4th HMI Test by AUDIO MOBIL at the In-House Test Facility
From June 28 to July 15, 2016, the fourth HMI test from the well-known test series will take place at AUDIO MOBIL’s secured test facility, accompanied by the University of Salzburg. In recent weeks, a total of 36 test subjects were recruited to participate in the comprehensive testing. The calls on social media, on the homepage, and in local newspapers were successful, and the required number of test drivers with the necessary gender-specific distribution was found.
The focus of the planned test series is on “vehicle connectivity.” Infotainment systems from three current premium-class vehicles—models from BMW, Volvo, and Mercedes Benz will be tested—are available for this purpose. Using the tasks performed by the test drivers, specific applications and their internet capability will be evaluated for user-friendliness and potential distraction hazards.
The results are eagerly anticipated—especially since they will be compared with the data from previous test series, making it possible to clearly determine whether the user-friendliness of infotainment systems in modern vehicles has further improved compared to previous years.
Curious about the results? AutoBild Deutschland, one of the most widely read media outlets in the segment, is available as a media partner and will provide prominent coverage. The publication date of the issue will be announced here in the coming weeks.
