Near-field audio study at the AUDIO MOBIL test site

AUDIO MOBIL and the University of Salzburg investigated the benefits of in-vehicle near-field audio systems

A scientific study to research future vehicle concepts was conducted at the AUDIO MOBIL test site on October 14 and 15, 2015, in collaboration with the University of Salzburg. In the run-up to the study, interested participants were sought in the region through press placements to take part in the approximately two-hour test procedure. The response to the call for study participants was enormous – AUDIO MOBIL would like to extend its sincere thanks once again to all participants and also to all interested parties who could not be selected due to the limited number of participants.

During the study, four people were asked to solve various predefined tasks together in a moving car. Different acoustic support systems were used, and their potential was assessed by the scientists using questionnaires and a final interview. The study data is currently with the University of Salzburg and is being evaluated. What can already be stated is that the new audio system used received an above-average rating. We can look forward to the detailed results – after all, it is precisely such innovations and technologies that are needed to make the future of mobility safer, especially within the framework of the planned partially or fully autonomous locomotion.
